How to install and play 'LJZ':

What is it?
LJZ is an emulator for the Tapwave Zodiac. It combines NES, SNES, Gameboy, Gameboy Color, Genesis/Megadrive, Neo Geo Pocket, Wonder Swan and TG16 emulation into one nice neat program that is very simple and easy to use. Also, its FREE and open source :) (which does give it an advantage!)

Why do I want it?
Well, if you enjoy playing old classics, or want to revisit some of your favourite games from your youth, this is a great way to do it. Did i forget to mention that its free!

What do I need to run it?
Potentially, all you need is a Zodiac, FileZ and preferably an SD card and an SD Card Reader for use with this, since to copy/delete files and move things around on the card its a lot easier to do with one of these. They can be bought very cheaply from many places, so they aren't a problem to find! (There is an alternative way to get the ROMS over to the Zodiac without using an SD card reader. Rename the ending of your ROM to .mp3, then u can sync it to the device becuase the zodiac thinks its a music track. Once on, track it down, and move it with 'FileZ' to the appropriate location, see below for more details)

How do I install it?
Installing this can be a tricky process sometimes, but il try to make it as easy as possible.

1. Download the latest version of LJZ here : http://yoyofr92.free.fr/ljz/index.html
2. Install all of the files to your zodiac (optional, install only the emu's that you want! However, installing all of them is easiest)
3. Hotsync the device to get the files to the Zodiac

4. Check that LJZ has appeared on your Zodiac, its most likely to appear in the 'Games Catergory'. Change the catergory if need be!
5. Open it to make sure that it installed properly. It may take a few seconds to open for the first time, so the screen may be white for a bit but dont panic, just leave it to launch and it will arrive on the NES screen.
6. Now, plug the SD card reader into your PC, and insert one of your SD cards.

7. Navigate through 'PALM', 'Programs', and in there should be a folder called 'LJZ'. Inside the folder are numerous folders, each assigned for one console of the Emulator (e.g. GB - Gameboy, GENZ - Genesis).
8. Each of those folders contains two others, 'Roms' and 'Saves'. Now all you do is get a ROM for that console, and place it within that folder. They should have appropriate file types e.g. .gbc for a Gameboy Color Rom.
9. Once the ROM is in the right folder, place the SD card back in the Zodiac console, launch LJZ, and select the console for the Rom you put on the card.

10. Before you start the game, go to the 'Config', and set the Input, Video and Audio options for the Console. Recommended settings for each console can be found at the bottom of this page.
11. Hit Launcher in top right, select the game and click launch.
12. Have fun :)
